Sirka (noun.) also know as vinegarin english is an acidic liquid prepared by the fermentation of foods containing ethanol like rice or wine. The sugar content in the food is converted into alcohol with the help of yeast. Vinegar is used to prepare healthy light meals. 

One of the famous Indian salads served by top restaurants is called the “Sirka waale pyaaz” where onion pieces along with herbs (Ilaichi, Dalchini, and Lavang) are kept in vinegar and used for many days.

Vinegar is used in pickles and is liked by all due to the unique tart taste that balances different types of flavours in a way to minimize the requirement of other ingredients like butter, cream, excessive sugar, oil etc.
