Sonth (noun.) Dry and fresh ginger is often used in many Indian recipes. Ginger is indispensable and is added to curries and tadka dishes. Sonth( in English Dry ginger) is added to cakes, biscuits and ginger beads. It is a pungent aromatic herb often found in bakery products and spicy crackers.

It can be used in powdered form in the marinade masala for Tandoori starter or to enhance the flavour of gravies and soups. The powdered dry ginger is used to brew teas and is a major culinary component of Indian cooking.
