Roti ( noun.) The Indian flatbread roti is made with simple wheat flour dough rolled into circles and cooked in hot griddle. It is part of almost all types of Indian traditional meals. Some regional dhabas serve circular roti made up of raw dried maize Flour or millet flour, that are believed to be higher in nutrients. 


The famous tandoori roti served by roadside restaurants in India is made in clay oven but roti is made on a flat skillet which is an extremely versatile and a sturdy base for most Indian dishes. Roti as a dish is superior to naan and other types of breads made up with certain chemicals, or yeast, or oil/ fat or refined flours.
