Karahi curry (Noun.), indicates a thick soupy dish prepared in a steep-sided wok like pot. Such a pot is called karahi, kadai, korai or kadhi. Some Indian restaurants may use serving platters in a pan like a karahi. Such a pan is used for deep frying or to make shallow fry recipes. 

It is used to make slow-cooked curries like bhindi bhaji, saag aloo, aloo gobi etc. There are many popular meat recipes made in such pans. Such types of pans can be found in all Indian kitchens and restaurants.
