Gosht (noun.) indicates tender meat that is likely to be made with goat or mutton flesh, prepared for long hours in a closed pot with herbs. It is the key ingredient found in Middle Eastern cuisine, Central Asian cuisine and cuisine of the Indian subcontinent. The word was first used in Persian literature where it means flesh or meat.

Nowadays many different types of recipes are made with Gosht. Some of the popular dishes made with meat are Nazuk Gosht Ki Seekh, Pakistani Bhuna Gosht and Dal Gosht. Most such dishes are cooked in a host of regional herbs and chillies and eaten with roti or rice.
