Lobhia Black-eyed peas are called Lobhia (in Hindi). It is a type of daal or lentil served with rice. It is also called chawali in Maharashtra where it can be made into chawali amti or chawali usal. It is often made into curry dish - Rajma or Chole where ingredients onions(pyaaz), tomatoes(tamatar), garlic(lehsun), ginger(adrak), turmeric (haldi), chilli powder and coriander(dhania) powder are used to make a fine paste that is sautéed with basic herbs and then water is added to boil it. The curry can be eaten with roti (or parathas) or rice (chawal) and salad.
